Startups

From 2015 to 2021, Jeroen worked for one client. He wanted a change and the possibility to look elsewhere. He said he would only switch if a position became available at Lightyear, a company that develops electric solar cars. His account manager, a real go-getter, found a place for him there. “This was a dream come true. As a solar test engineer, I was able to apply my testing knowledge in a new field. Unfortunately, the company went bankrupt after I was working there for nine months. But TMC was there to catch and help me. And within only two weeks I had a new assignment, at Defenture in Tiel.”

Flexibility

Defenture is a young company that focuses on military vehicles. Peetoom works here as a test and verification engineer. “This work is hands-on and dynamic, exactly what I like.” Because the company is so young, it does not yet have a testing department. “We do a lot of driving tests, braking tests and steering tests, often outside at test locations in Germany. Despite the challenge of working with prototypes and limited vehicles, I enjoy the variety and the opportunity to make a real impact.”

New chances

Defenture benefits enormously from the collaboration with TMC. They not only have access to Peetoom's expertise. Those of other TMC employees with different backgrounds, such as electrical and mechanical engineers, are also within easy reach. “In addition to my daily work, I am working with a colleague to set up a completely new testing department. Setting up a testing department is fundamental to the growth and success of the company. It is crucial and I see myself working here in the long term, although I realize that a new client always remains a possibility. TMC's flexibility and extensive network enable rapid adjustments and new opportunities.”
